Favorite part of being a Speech Language Pathologist:
I love watching a child who was once difficult to understand become easier to understand. Seeing their confidence grow as they become more successful in communicating is one of the most rewarding parts of this career.
What's A Word Or Sound You Love Hearing A Kiddo Finally Nail?
Definitely the tricky /r/ sound! There’s nothing quite like hearing a child finally nail that /r/ they’ve been working so hard on. It can take a lot of practice and patience, so seeing the excitement on their face when they realize they can finally say it correctly makes it all worth it!
If I wasn't an SLP I'd be...
A dance teacher or Pediatrician!

Favorite part of being a Speech Language Pathologist:
I love seeing the power of communication and its impact across various ages, from hearing little ones say their first words as they learn to express themselves for the first time, to witnessing the proud moment a child notices they've mastered their sounds independently. I feel lucky to be a part of the process!

Helping children grow in their communication and feeding skills, whether that means finding their voice, becoming more confident with speech and language, or feeling more successful and comfortable at mealtimes.
What's A Word Or Sound You Love Hearing A Kiddo Finally Nail? One of my most memorable moments was in graduate school when a little friend’s first words were “green star.” I’ll never forget it! I also love hearing kids successfully say their own name! There’s something so special about helping them communicate something that is uniquely theirs.
Pets:
Dog person! I have an energetic and sweet 3-year-old golden retriever named Georgia Mae.
